Sony Pictures Entertainment led all studios with four Golden Globe wins in film categories on Sunday night. The studio's haul included three awards for "American Hustle," which had been nominated in seven categories. Sony Pictures, a unit of Sony Corp., led the pack with 15 nominations in movie categories. "American Hustle" took home the awards for best motion picture, musical or comedy ; best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy (Amy Adams); and best supporting actress in a motion picture (Jennifer Lawrence). The David O. Russell-directed picture, co-financed by Annapurna Pictures, has grossed $119 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The studio's other winner was "Blue Jasmine," which was released by the company's Sony Pictures Classics division. the film's star, Cate Blanchett, won the award for best actress in a motion picture, drama. The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. shut out Sony Pictures' Tom Hanks-starring thriller "Captain Phillips." The movie snagged four nominations but didn't take home any awards. Warner Bros. and Focus Features, a unit of Universal Pictures, won two awards apiece. Warner Bros.' two wins came for the Spike Jonze-directed drama "Her" and the space thriller "Gravity." Jonze took home the award for best screenplay, and "Gravity" filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron won the Golden Globe for best director. Warner Bros. had received seven nominations. Focus Features' two Golden Globes were courtesy of "Dallas Buyers Club." The drama's star, Matthew McConaughey, won the award for best actor in a motion picture, drama. McConaughey's co-star, Jared Leto, won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor in a motion picture. Universal Pictures had earned five nominations. No other film studio won more than one Golden Globe. 20th Century Fox Film, which won one Golden Globe, had received 10 nominations. Fox's lone winner was a big one: "12 Years a Slave," released by the studio's Fox Searchlight Pictures subsidiary, won the Golden Globe for best motion picture, drama. The Weinstein Co., which won one Golden Globe, had snagged nine nominations. The company's "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," won the award for best original song. Paramount Pictures, which won one Golden Globe, had gotten eight nominations. Its win came for "The Wolf of Wall Street," whose star, Leonardo DiCaprio, won the award for best actor in a motion picture, musical or comedy. "The Wolf of Wall Street," which was fully financed by Red Granite Pictures, has grossed $97 million worldwide.
